Bust of a January thus far!

So I was excited to start 2011 and well so far it has not been my year and it all started on NYE! I know I tend to be a realist but at the same time be optimistic (i know ironic) but i've had some shitty luck lately. I guess the good thing is everything could have been worse haha... Sooooo I decided my 2011 will restart in February and I have deemed January a bad month;) I'll save you from all the specific details but just now January is going to be an expensive month and not by choice! jaja Send me some good thoughts and wish me luck because well I need it! On the plus I am in my new home and finally brought home Princess (who btw is a brat because she has been spoiled for the last few weeks or so! ) Thank you to my dog sitters! Poor Princess is scared of my stairs though ! Well thats it for now i'll try to blog more.

NYE !!!! Coming very soon. What is NYE really??? I guess most would see it as an excuse to drink too much and not be judged for it while saying goodbye to whatever mishaps and misfortunes from the past year! Waiting for a new years kiss from your crush or significant other under the mistletoe! And hello to inspirational new years resolutions that hopefully last more then 2 weeks! lol But nonetheless this day is full of hope that the next year will be different or even better then the last one. Soooo more reason to celebrate?!?

Anyone have some sweet NYE plans??? I’m down! =)

Now with a little piece of Andrea and Paty Gonzales: 2009 “our year”  and 2010 “the year of love,” which by the way were true for them ;) Now as 2011 approaches this year will be called again! 2011 the year of change… the year of metamorphosis! <insert butterfly here> Now I could sit here and explain it , but take it as you wish …because it is however you interpret it!

Woot Woot as promised some pictures from the gingerbread party. This event was a process of three days. Day 1 : mix all ingredients to make the dough and chill! Day 2 : Roll it out and bake the pieces! Day 3 : Decorate! Decorate Decorate!


So because it's me of course my rolling had a little defect ... aka I did not roll it skinny enough ha! So I had fat/plumpy gingerbread people and houses! Although my chubby gingerbread people got compliments :) BTW my little house with help from Miss Paulina is the turquoise one :)


Now as we made gingerbread houses ... everyone wanted to leave them here... and as much as they were cute we didn't want them at our house! So our friend Vivian decided to perform a "random act of kindness" and leave a house on on a random persons doorstep (aka one of my apartment neighbors). Yes good samaritans we are lol

Sunday was definitely a unique day. I said goodbye to my cousin who I am already missing dearly and it was harder to see him of then I expected. Keep him in your thoughts please! After an early start I decided to make a mini road trip to T-Town aka Tucson to go visit my heart in my pocket Vanessa who is in town from VA! Woot woot!

The drive to Tucson was quick and my first stop was Bobos MmmmMmmmm best breakfast joint in Tucson à 2.50 for 2 eggs, homefries, and a biscuit with honey! Can’t beat that! Best of all I was able to enjoy it with the bestie Amberino. While we enjoyed breakfast with Lil Ber’s words of “wisdom” we had to make our next trip to Bookmans where I have promised to read the book Lil Ber got for me, (yes I’ll utilize what I learn from the book geez! Lol).

Now what is there to do in Tucson??? Well the Street Fair happened to be this weekend … Excited! I went with Vanessa and some peeps to this amazing event… where I fell in love with art , gadgets, and items to decorate the house (ummmm can I say I love random housewares/decorative stuff). 

One of my faves Mary Beier had metal art work that reminded me of the movie UP… anywho I am totally going to have to buy a piece or two from her! Check it out http://metalworksart.com/shows/index.htm

And last but not least the only item I purchased which I absolutely love! This amazing ring and I met the artist and she was amazing! Anywho check it out! LOVE!

This Sunday was very well needed and I had to say goodbye to my cousin Ulysses and my dear friend Vanessa! But it was great to see them both. I truly do not know what I would do without these two they have definitely seen me at my worst and my best J Love You!

Oh and a little shout out to Little Hug for sending me her Dear Santa List---- made my heart smile …seriously J

Sophi Flower

Yesterday I had a bit of an off day. And this little lady right here brought me a flower. Totally warmed my heart as she said "meme put it in water." 

So as some of you may know I had a trip planned to Honduras to revisit the madres roots aka visit my grandpa with my momma. Unfortunately yesterday my mom had to unexpectedly have her appendix removed and now she can't travel for 6 weeks! She's doing good but I know she's bummed. So now I will not be out of the country for 2 weeks. New Plans coming I guess? haha

Now who loves turkish coffee??? MMMmmm yum....well its actually a little to strong for some people but I like it! So I had my cup read yesterday... take a look-->

See the lion??? Now what did Sue (my aunts mom) tell me ? well lots of stuff... Its sooooo funny because the first thing she ALWAYS tells me is there is no man in your life hahahaha . This time for the first time she did not say that haha but she also didn't say there was a man in my life jaja go figure;) So I can't go into complete detail about my reading :p ja! 

Anywho I was not feeling well yesterday, but after my little Sophi flower I feel refreshed!

A few Bubble thoughts….

So in the past couple days I have been bombarded with bubble thoughts and thought I would share! First off, can I just say Roller Derby! I went to my first game and as I tend to do more often then not… I get these ideas in my head and just want to do them. Now I know what you may be thinking … Mena=Clumsy and on skates ummmmm good idea? Well do you like entertainment? Lets not forget the size of the other girls yikes! Hmmmm what to do? What to do? The sad part is I have even thought about what to cut out of my current “budget” to join! I’ll keep you posted on this idea but it would have to be after January!

Now in the spirit of Christmas I like to burst into song at least once a day and I recommend you do so as well! I currently have two Christmassy projects coming along: 1 Gingerbread house/people making party 2. Sledventure.  I bought the essentials for #1…seeeeee -------> 

(yes the wine is needed for the actual baking , not the party ;) lol ). I plan on making the dough this Thursday and anyone is invited to help (expecting people to jump all at once ;) ). The actual decorating party will be Wed. Dec 15^th …get excited!

Sledventure is still in the planning stage and all that is known is that I am going… location TBD as of yet! I have one partner in crime confirmed and Theresy-pooh said she would probably go as well! What to expect: blast of a time, neat sled (neon plastic yes!), snow, me biffing it, and please wear a scarf for funsies!

Last but not least in an effort to be healthier with my buddy we will “watch what we eat” and start working out. Now this is not your normal “diet” per say because we are not that hardcore. Instead we have begun a confess what you ate today because it will make you try to eat a little healthier! Lol Day 2 and I already got this text :

“why is this day 2 …and I don’t want to do it anymore? Lol I still want to work out but the watching what I eat…not so much lol” ß This right there…. Now that is  motivation! Ha   So until I join roller derby ;) I will do my daily food confessions :D
